Fiber plays a very important role in the proper functioning of the organism as it helps in the
proper function of the intestines, promoting a feeling of satiety and assiting in weight control.

The psyllium originates from a shrub (Plantago ovata) and is extracted from the bark of its seeds. Because of its high content of soluble fiber and mucilage, it has proven to be effective in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, colon cancer, colitis and atherosclerosis among many other health conditions. It is hygroscopic, that is, it absorbs water. It increases in volume by contact with liquids, expands and forms a gelatinous mass in the intestine. This bulky gel cleans the intestinal wall, carries toxins and waste through the colon and has an excellent laxative effect, without causing diarrhea or abdominal pain. Fiber reduces appetite, improves digestion and detoxifies the body. It is poor in other nutrients and contains only a small amount of calcium and iron, and is free of fat and protein.

Chitosan is taken in capsules and is made from various crustacean fibers (crab, crab, lobster, shrimp). It promotes the absorption of fat inside the intestine, preventing it from being absorbed, so the fat of the food ends up going to the stool along with the fibers, helping to control the weight.
